Free Mental Health Services Tel Aviv: Walk-In Counseling
Access free counseling at Tel Aviv municipal centers with no appointment required. Walk-in mental health support available at Ibn Gvirol and Florentin locations.
How we reported this
Tel Aviv residents gained expanded access to no-cost mental health appointments at two municipal sites this July.
High temperatures and longer daylight hours have increased reports of sleep disruption and anxiety among people who live near the beachfront and in dense central neighborhoods. City data shows demand for support rises each summer when many residents stay in town instead of traveling north.
Walk-in points on Ibn Gvirol and in Florentin
The main intake desk sits inside the Tel Aviv-Yafo Municipality building at 12 Ibn Gvirol Street. Staff there issue same-day slots for 45-minute sessions with licensed counselors. A second location opened last month at the Florentin Community Center on 45 Florentin Street, where visitors register at the ground-floor desk before 4 p.m. Both sites accept walk-ins and require only an identity card.
Numbers and next steps
Ministry of Health figures released in May recorded 52,300 free sessions delivered across Tel Aviv clinics in 2025, up 14 percent from the prior year. Appointments run Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. and on Fridays until noon. People who prefer phone contact can dial the city helpline at 03-521-8234 to receive the next available time at either address. Residents who arrive before 10 a.m. on weekdays often secure a slot the same morning.
After the first visit, counselors issue a follow-up card that lists the date, time and any recommended breathing or movement exercises drawn from the city wellness program. Those who need evening options can request a referral to the after-hours line run by the same municipal team. The process stays free for anyone registered with a Tel Aviv address.
